Korea Refugee Forum is a national platform for discussing refugee issues in Korea, co-hosted by UNHCR Korea, the National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK), the Refugee Rights Network, and the Refugee Research Network. Government bodies, civil society, academia, private companies, and refugees themselves come together to talk through Korea’s refugee protection policies and the direction of social integration. What is Korea Refugee Forum?

Korea Refugee Forum is a space created to bring refugee issues in Korean society onto both domestic and international discussion stages. The 2025 forum was held on Tuesday, 9 December 2025 at the Main Hall of Sahyang Convergence Gymnasium, Seoul National University of Education, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders working on refugee issues in Korea.

One of the core features of the forum is the Refugee Reference Group. Through this group, refugees can speak directly into the decision-making processes that affect their own lives.

Topics Covered at the Forum

  • Current refugee protection policies in Korea and how to improve them
  • Social integration experiences and challenges facing refugee children and youth
  • Updates on refugee-related programmes and partnerships planned for 2026
  • Identifying areas that need resources and partnerships, and building new networks
  • Reviewing the progress of the Global Refugee Forum and Korea’s role in it

This Is a Great Opportunity If You…

  • Are a refugee or asylum seeker currently living in Korea
