“Write Your Future: Personal Statement Clinic for Refugee (Prospective) University Students” is a program designed to help refugee students and prospective university students tell their own stories in their own words. It is hosted by MAP (Migration to Asia Peace), a refugee human rights organization. Through one-on-one feedback from professional instructors and group activities, participants work together to complete personal statements for scholarship applications or career preparation.

About the Program

This program brings three things together:

  • Reflecting on your experiences: We explore your life story together to find your strengths and values.
  • Writing your personal statement: You finish a personal statement you can use for scholarship applications or career preparation.
  • One-on-one feedback and group activities: A professional instructor gives each participant direct, individual feedback, and participants share their stories with one another.

No prior writing experience is needed at all. We will be with you every step of the way so your story reaches the world with greater power.
