Refugees and migrants living in Korea can get a COVID-19 vaccination. The registration process varies a little depending on whether you have an Alien Registration Number and whether you are enrolled in health insurance, so please check the section that applies to you below.
Before you register, please note: The procedures and details below may change. Before making your appointment, please contact the Immigration Contact Center (1345) (available weekdays 09:00-22:00) or your local public health center to confirm the latest information.
How to Register
Case 1: You have an Alien Registration Number and are enrolled in health insurance
You can register online directly.
- Visit the COVID-19 Vaccination Pre-Registration website (ncvr.kdca.go.kr).
- Verify your identity using your Alien Registration Number, then choose a vaccination site and date to complete your booking.
What if you see a message saying “You are not eligible”? This means your personal information has not yet been entered into the registration system. Don’t worry — just follow these steps:
- Call your local community health center (보건소, bo-geon-so) and ask them to register you in the system.
- Once the registration is done, try booking online again.
Case 2: You have an Alien Registration Number but are NOT enrolled in health insurance
Instead of booking online, please register by phone.
- Call your local community health center or your local government call center to make an appointment.
- You can find the call center number for your area on the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) COVID-19 Vaccination website.
Having trouble with Korean? Use proxy registration
At the moment, both online and phone registration are available in Korean only. If communicating in Korean is difficult for you, you can use proxy registration — meaning someone else can book on your behalf.
- The person helping you only needs your Alien Registration Number to make the booking for you.
- Proxy registration is available both online and by phone.
- Feel free to ask a Korean-speaking friend, acquaintance, or a support organization for help.
